| 2. | Outfit Assistants on Contract |
Salary / Remuneration –
a) The Consolidated pay for the candidates meeting the minimum experience requirement (i.e.3 years) is Rs. 23,300/- per month. They will also be eligible for compensation for extra hours of work up to Rs. 5,830/- per month.
b) For completed year of services over and above the minimum years (3 years), a technical committee will review the relevancy of the experience to the proposed job in CSL and based on their recommendation, higher pay may be offered to the candidates.
Age Relaxation –Age Relaxation in upper limit will be given to only reserved categories as per government rules and regulations. Note – The Candidates seeking age relaxation as per Govt. Guidelines will be required to submit copies of necessary certificate(s) at any subsequent stage of the selection process, as required by the CSL Company.

Reservation and Relaxation –
Reservation & Relaxation will be given to only reserved & Special categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWBD etc. ) as per government rules and regulations. Reservation guidelines as laid down by Government of India from time to time for SC/ST/OBC//PwBD etc. shall be followed. Candidates claiming reservation under reserved categories should submit certificate as per the Govt. Prescribed format issued from the competent certifying authority.

Exam Date / Centre – Depending upon the number of online applications, the objective type test shall be held at various test centres in Kerala or at Kochi as decided by CSL. The applicants have the option to choose test centres in Kerala for the online test while completing their online application. The allocation of examination centre shall be at the sole discretion of CSL.
Call letters shall not be sent to short-listed candidates by post. They shall be informed by e-mail/through CSL website to download call letter from www.cochinshipyard.in. Schedule of the selection shall be intimated to the shortlisted applicants through E-mail/CSL website (Career page CSL, Kochi). Candidates are requested to frequently check the above website (Career page CSL, Kochi) for updates related to the selection.
Exam Pattern –
(a) Method of Selection and Marks –
Phase I – Objective type Online Test – 30 Marks
Phase II – Practical Test – 70 Marks*
(Based on grades obtained in Practical test)
Total – 100 Marks
** In posts where the number of applicants are more, the practical test may be evaluated in grades which shall be converted into marks for final selection.
(b) The Objective type Online test shall be of 35 minutes duration comprising of 30 Multiple Choice Questions and consists of two parts – General (Part A – 10 marks) and Trade related (Part B – 20 marks). Each question carries one mark. There shall be no negative marks.
(c) Mark lists for each post shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the Phase -I Objective type online test. Candidates who score minimum pass marks and above in the Phase I – Objective test shall be short listed for certificate verification, subject to meeting eligibility requirements for the posts.
(d) The minimum pass marks for Phase I Objective test shall be as below:-
For unreserved posts & for EWS candidates– 50 % of Total Marks,
For OBC candidates – 45 % of Total Marks only for vacancies reserved for OBC,
For SC/ST candidates – 40% of Total Marks only for vacancies reserved for SC/ST,
For PwBD candidates – 40 % of Total Marks.
CSL may relax the minimum pass mark if the number of qualified candidates are insufficient.
(e) Candidates who successfully complete the certificate verification shall be shortlisted to
attend Phase-II Practical test on a later date. The Phase II Practical test shall be held at CSL, Kochi.
